2026 Female Sale

Our “Heart of the Herd Female Sale” Saturday, 13 June.

Droughtmaster females are renowned for their efficiency and adaptability. Their Bos indicus content and retained hybrid vigour allow them to thrive on less feed, making them highly metabolically efficient. These females are ideally suited for producing both purebred and terminal crossbred calves and are accepted across a wide range of markets, from feedlot operations to live export.

Importantly, the females offered in this sale are not culls, but valuable breeding animals that are surplus to requirements. Many have already produced bulls sold through previous programs, and the majority are young, proven breeders. All females are pregnancy tested in calf (PTIC), well handled, quiet, and reliable performers. The offering consists primarily of registered females, with a smaller line of commercial females available separately.

The registered females come with comprehensive assurances, including DNA testing with results supplied, and all are either poll or scurred. Registration transfers are included for current financial members of Droughtmaster Australia. These females have been joined to registered, DNA-profiled Droughtmaster bulls, with calf DNA verification required for registration. They are also fully vaccinated against Tick Fever, Vibrio, Pestivirus, 5-in-1, and Three Day.

Sale logistics are designed for flexibility and accessibility. Females will be offered in half-deck lines of 10 head. Approximately 400 females from Southeast Queensland properties—accustomed to ticks, forest country, and lantana—will be presented at Silverdale Saleyards with a Stocklive interface and are guaranteed to pass tick inspection on the day. A further 200 females from Pinnacle (Augathella) will be offered via Stocklive, with free delivery to Roma or Dalby Saleyards. The sale will be conducted in conjunction with Hayes & Co., GDL, and Stocklive.

Overall, these females represent a high-quality, productive, and well-managed offering, ideally suited not only for breeding programs but also as embryo transfer recipients or IVF programs.
